PRISONER OF THE KALAKIRI written by Professor Chudi Uwazuruike, directed by Bethels Agomuo, and produced by Ed Onaodowan and the Nakanu Players. Debuted 2003, off Broadway and Brooklyn Theaters, New York. ABOVE is a scene - "The Trial," Manga (Oliver Mbamara) ridicules Okoko's court. 


THE NEW THEATER IMMIGRANT FESTIVAL was recently held in New York. The event was hosted by Immigrant's Theater Project Marcy Arlin, Artistic Director In Association with Lower East Side Tenement Museum, in collaboration with The Kazbah Project. The more than two weeks long event, showcased plays by women from America, Australia, Egypt, Nigeria, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The event was closed off by a superlative stage-reading of 'EDEWEDE' by Nigerian writer Juliana Okoh performed by some talented actors shown above as they bask in the joy of their successful outing.
